The internet is weird. Celebrities are weird.
Combine those two truths and you get things like the current bathing #discourse on Twitter.
You’d have to be even more immersed in the web than even the unhealthy amount I am to be sure where it started. I think Ashton Kutcher was among the first to trend for their announcement that he and wife Mila Kunis don’t shower often. Jake Gyllenhaal fired up the take machine again last week when he followed Kelso into the fray and told Vanity Fair, “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times.”
Conversation now includes dermatologists and cosmetics companies, and encompasses issues like class and race. It’s a whole thing, in a very 21st century way.
But why am I bringing it up on this here pro wrestling blog? Because one of our business’ biggest stars, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has chimed in.
Nope, I’m the opposite of a “not washing themselves” celeb.— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) August 7, 2021
Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’.
Shower (warm) after my workout before work.
Shower (hot) after I get home from work.
Face wash, body wash, exfoliate and I sing (off key) in the shower https://t.co/iE6ZPhrthL
We’ll just assume Rocky sings “You’re Welcome” while getting clean, which works because we’d like to thank him for his contribution to the internet’s newest diversion.
Still not sure why anybody needs to share their personal hygiene routine with the world, but feel free to do so below, Cagesiders. Or just do like me, and sit quietly feeling like a slacker after once again seeing DJ’s daily schedule.
