During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, word started getting out that WWE had released a number of wrestlers from its developmental roster that isn’t really a developmental roster down in NXT.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported the names:
- Bronson Reed
- Bobby Fish
- Tyler Rust
- Leon Ruff
- Jake Atlas
- Ari Sterling
- Kona Reeves
- Mercedes Martinez
- Zachariah Smith
- Asher Hale
- Giant Zanjeer
- Stephon Smith
- Dezmond Troy
The news of these releases comes roughly one week after WWE reported that they are on track to reach a similar profit level this year compared to their record profits achieved in 2020.
Bronson Reed’s name stands out on this list because he and Karrion Kross were reportedly receiving dark match tryouts before a couple episodes of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown just last month. Instead of being called up to Raw like Kross was, Reed is now gone from the company.
He has since tweeted:
Just got released from @WWE
