Cody Rhodes reacts to Bray Wyatt’s release from WWE

WWE.com

WWE has released a lot of wrestlers since the coronavirus pandemic began in 2020, and it’s always interesting to think about which of these free agents will end up in All Elite Wrestling.

Bray Wyatt is arguably the biggest such star who has been cut by WWE during this time, with news of his release coming less than one week ago. Naturally, on a call with the media this week, Cody Rhodes was asked if Wyatt is a good fit for AEW.

Here is Cody’s response:

“Bray Wyatt was my rookie at that second season they did of NXT. And the Rotunda family and the Rhodes family they certainly go way back. I can’t comment on if I see a spot for him when it comes to [AEW], but I can tell you, [he’s] an incredibly creative individual, an incredibly creative man.

...I can’t comment on if he fits in with us, but I can say, if he has an ounce of passion for this, that guy can fit in anywhere because he’s a very special, special talent. So that’s really all I could say there.”

So, Cody says multiple times that he can’t comment on how well Wyatt fits in with AEW, but then he concludes that Wyatt fits in anywhere. I think it’s safe to presume that “anywhere” includes AEW, no?

Does Cody’s reaction make you think Bray Wyatt is more likely to sign with AEW?
