On the July 26 Raw, Natalya’s leg got caught under Doudrop during a roll-up sequence. She had to be helped to the back, and by the end of the week she was headed to surgery.
Despite that, we heard she wouldn’t miss much time. Natalya herself confirmed that’s the goal while talking about the injury on Table Talk this afternoon (Aug. 4):
“I had ankle surgery five days ago. I’m two days away from running on a treadmill. I’m very excited about that. I’m trying to be careful. I have screws and stuff drilled into my bones. There was no broken bone, but it needed surgery. For some weird reason, I didn’t feel any pain, and I think it’s because we had fans.
“Hopefully [I’ll be back] soon. The surgery was Friday. I was walking with no crutches three days later. I probably have another week before I get my stitches out. I have to let my bone heal. Probably under a month. We’ll see, I still have to get doctor’s clearance.”
Natalya & Tamina are the reigning WWE Women’s Tag team champions. Thus far, WWE hasn’t given any indication they’re planning to take the belts off the duo.
We’ll see if that continues to be the case, and we’ll keep you posted on Nattie’s recovery.
