NXT stacks the card for the last show before the rebrand

NXT’s Twitter

If the Sept. 7 episode of NXT is the end of the road for the brand’s current direction, WWE is sending it out with bang.

Both of NXT’s Tag Team championships will be on the line next Tuesday. MSK asked General Manager William Regal to give Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch a chance to reclaim the belts they vacated when Burch was injured five months ago (Regal was going to withhold the opportunity because the heels jumped and “injured” Timothy Thatcher a week ago). In the Women’s division, Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter have been on a win streak while champions Io Shirai & Zoey Stark have been off trying to learn how to get along. That doesn’t seem to have worked, but they’ll have to try to get on the same page next week to defend their belts.

In addition to those matches, Tian Sha’s Mei Ying makes her in-ring debut, Breakout Tournament winner Carmelo Hayes tangles with Santos Escobar, and Kay Lee Ray starts her quest for the Women’s title by facing former champ Ember Moon.

Sound like a good way to turn the black-and-gold brand into the very colorful one?
