Thousand miles, oceans between us, I think about her everyday. This plane ride’s long, these wheels keep rollin’, I call to see if she’s OK. It’s dark and lonely all by herself, it tears me up to walk away, but I have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you folks.

The show opens with a “last week on NXT” recap video, which is helpful for your friendly neighborhood liveblog lady, seeing as I haven’t watched NXT on the regular since oh god early 2019?

Hit Row (Ashante “Thee” Adonis & Top Dolla) vs. Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza)

Chaos early, Adonis and Mendoza to start, brawling, whip to the corner, Ashante taking control with strikes and shoulder thrusts. Hammer whip, Raul in agony, Adonis caps it off with a float-over DDT! Headed up top and perching, diving crossbody... NO WATER IN THE POOL! Mendoza drags him over and tags Wilde in and they get to work.

Joaquin whip across, Ashante with a neckbreaker and a tag to Dolla, knucklelock, wrenching it in, elevated wristlock, Wilde fights out but gets leveled with a shoulder block! Bieling him across the ring, putting him in the corner for overhand chops, tag back to Adonis. Joaquin gets away, off the top with a tijeras but Ashante cuts him off with a basement dropkick to the face!

Cover for two, Wilde with body blows, off the ropes but he runs right into a series of lariats! Roll-through, whip across, huge twisting flapjack and Adonis kips up after! The rest of Hit Row countering Santos Escobar’s interference but Wilde pulls Ashante off the apron and puts him into the barricade to send us to break!

Back from commercial, the Legado are in control and running double-teams on Adonis! Wilde wrenching his neck and laying punches in, reverse chinlock applied, keeping him away from the tag and the heat segment rolls on with quick tags from LdF. Short quebrada gets Mendoza a two count, Adonis ducks a running knee and hits a dropkick on the button!

Tags made, Dolla comes in like a freight train! Off the ropes, big knee lift, Stinger Splash, side slam and he pops right up! Top off the ropes, Escobar nails him with a chair and the referee has no choice...

Hit Row win by disqualification.

Post-match, Santos waffles Dolla with a chair a few more times and the Legado beat Isaiah Scott down! They thread his head and neck through a chair, Mendoza holds it in place as Escobar goes up top but Top Dolla pulls his guy out of the ring and stares Santos down! He asks him if he’s bad and B-FAB attacks him from behind with a chair!

Adonis hits the ring again and lays Wilde out with a superkick before Top tosses Mendoza over to Swerve... JML DRIVER!

Samoa Joe is backstage with William Regal, who’s assigning him a security detail to make sure nothing happens between him and Karrion Kross before TakeOver 36.

A recap of Ridge Holland’s return last week follows to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get a Dexter Lumis video package showing off his artistic abilities.

Ikemen Jiro vs. Ridge Holland

Collar and elbow, Holland backs him into the ropes, side headlock applied, trading right hands and he lays Jiro right out! Dropping a knee across his face, sleeper hold applied, Ikemen counters with a jawbreaker and a rolling elbow! More elbows, off the ropes, Ridge picks him up and puts him on the ropes before shoving him to the floor!

Picking Jiro up on the floor, he throws him into the barricade! Back inside, big suplex, pulling his blazer off, knee to the face, crossface strikes, dropping a knee across the back of his neck! Overhook suplexes, a big headbutt, Ikemen wobbly, Holland scoops him up...

Ridge Holland wins by pinfall with an Emerald Flowsion.

Post-match, Holland dumps Jiro out of the ring and Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan join him.

Dunne gets on the mic and says everyone thinks they’re bad until a real bad man steps in the room. Tommaso Ciampa thought he was a bad man until they stepped in the room, and Timothy Thatcher, now that Ridge is back, he’s gonna break the rest of his teeth. This is what happens when you step to the three most dangerous men in NXT.

Prove him wrong, he dares you.

Franky Monet, Jessi Kamea, and Robert Stone are interviewed backstage.

Franky takes charge of the interview and says last week’s loss was from Stone’s interference. She says she’s not a loser and if this little group is going to work, it has to be rebuilt in her image and under her rules, take it or leave it. Robert says it’s all crystal clear and he gets it.

We get a video package hyping up Roderick Strong vs. Bobby Fish and the whole Diamond Mine situation, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package hyping up Trey Baxter.

Bobby Fish vs. Roderick Strong

Collar and elbow, struggling vigorously into the corner, Strong with a wristlock, reversals, into the ropes and referee DA Brewer demands a break. Back to the lockup, Fish gets him in the corner, knee and a snapmare but Roddy gets away from the followup kick! Leg pick blocked, Bobby with a headlock, knee lift, wrenching it in, shot off, shoulder block!

Drop down, big knee, Strong with a headlock takeover, hanging in there, Fish gets a reverse chinlock and then presses the attack with kicks in the corner, choking him with a knee until Brewer warns him off. Another corner, body blow, whip across, up and over, Roddy off the ropes but Bobby takes him out with a roundhouse kick!

Fish is in control and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Strong recovers and puts boots to him! Kick to the back, victory roll pin for two, straight suplex, big Rock Bottom backbreaker... NOPE! Trading forearms, Fish with a back elbow, chest kick, running knee, leg kicks and he takes Roddy off his feet! Duck the roundhouse, solebutt connects, Fish with a sliding elbow... STILL NO!

Pressing the attack, roundhouse kick gets Bobby another tight nearfall, schoolboy for two, Strong with a jumping knee, suplex lift...

Roderick Strong wins by pinfall with End of Heartache.

Cameron Grimes presents LA Knight with his resistance bands and asks if he can go get ready for his match.

LA says he looks ready (despite that he’s wearing a suit) and he better be ready to have his back against GYV. Grimes says if he wasn’t a man of his word he wouldn’t be wearing this suit, and asks if Knight has his back. LA guarantees that he has his back and asks him to shine up his boot real nice, and Cameron gets to work as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Grizzled Young Vets cut a promo during their entrance, as usual.

Drake calls Grimes living proof that you can polish a turd, and Gibson says he doesn’t know what weird roleplaying game they’re up to but friendly advice— stay out of their way.

Cameron Grimes & LA Knight vs. Grizzled Young Vets (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

Knight and Grimes with the early lead but Drake makes a sacrifice and Gibson is able to cut LA off. Tag to James, he goes for a suplex but Knight floats over into a neckbreaker and Cameron makes the tag! Big diving crossbody, side headlock, Zack with a blind tag and he’s able to whiplash Grimes into the ropes! Tag to Drake again, double whip, double lariat!

Gibson back in, sleeper hold applied, grinding Cameron down, he gets slung off, back body drop, the path is clear but Knight refuses the tag! Grimes takes his gloves and jacket off and he’s ready to fight! Right hands on right hands, GYV with a double whip but he creates a meeting of the minds and follows it with a double Frankensteiner!

To the apron, Penalty Kick, hanging Drake’s neck over the top rope, Cameron up top, nobody home, drop down, off the ropes... CROSSBODY POWERSLAM CAN’T QUITE PUT JAMES DRAKE AWAY! Grimes fired up, calling for it, Gibson runs interference, blind tag, cut him off...

Grizzled Young Veterans win by pinfall with Ticket to Mayhem on Cameron Grimes.

Post-match, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase comes to the ring to comfort Cameron Grimes.

He says he tried to tell him Knight wouldn’t hold up his end of the bargain and he needs to find some way out of the situation.

Commentary hypes up Dakota Kai explaining her actions, after the break.

We get a video package recapping Samoa Joe’s return to NXT.

A recap of Dakota Kai turning on Raquel Gonzalez last week follows.

Dakota’s explanation comes by way of a video package, wherein she basically says that Raquel was just supposed to be her muscle and she was supposed to be the one to win the title.

Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are interviewed backstage.

Johnny says he knows what’s best for Indi Hartwell and he has to protect her at all costs. He knows it’s not going to be popular, but tonight, he ends InDex, for good.

“Chainsaw” Joe Gacy gets a video package to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary informs us that Adam Cole is not medically cleared to compete, with a number of neck issues resulting from Kyle O’Reilly’s attack last week. (An attack which we also get a recap video of.)

Commentary informs us they’ll have a face-to-face next week.

“Chainsaw” Joe Gacy vs. Trey Baxter (NXT Breakout Tournament First Round Match)

Baxter with a waistlock, Gacy throws him off and biels him across the ring! Boot up in the corner, Joe cuts him down with a chop and gets a one-count off of it! Drawing him up, shoulder blocks, Trey hangs onto his leg and snaps off an enzuigiri! Scoop lift, shot off, dropkick knocks Gacy to the floor! Off the ropes, suicide dive, Joe catches him and throws him onto the apron for a knockout elbow!

Back inside, hammering at him with elbows, big suplex, only two! Chinlock, Baxter slips out and hits a jawbreaker but Gacy throws him into the corner! Nobody home on the back elbow, Trey with a springboard dropkick, Joe falls ot the floor and Baxter dives on him! Back in, another dive, a corkscrew tope on the third! Back inside, slingshot tornillo but again Gacy kicks out!

Trey draws him up, sleeper hold applied, Joe rams him into the corner and knocks himself loose! In the corner, fireman’s carry, Baxter slips out, knocks him down...

Trey Baxter wins by pinfall with a 450 footstomp.

We get footage from earlier today of Io Shirai and Zoey Stark hanging out at a Japanese restaurant. Io orders in Japanese and Stark just does an “I’ll have what she’s having” and gets put off by the food selection that arrives. She doesn’t know how to use chopsticks, uses a fork, eats a big honkin’ bite of wasabi without knowing what it is, the whole nine yards.

Shirai sticks her with the bill and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Indi Hartwell is interviewed.

She says it’s complicated— on one hand, family, on the other, true love. She won’t say she’s pulling for Dexter Lumis tonight, but if he were to win, she thinks Candice and Johnny would see that he’s misunderstood, and tonight we’ll see if it’s meant to be. (Listen, girly, I dunno what you see in him, both because I’m gay and because of my previous experience with Samuel Shaw in pro wrestling, but love always, always wins.)

Karrion Kross comes down and calls Samoa Joe out to provoke a scene and he gets one, with Joe choking security out as he runs away.

We get a video package for WALTER defending the NXT UK title against Ilya Dragunov at TakeOver 36.

This sends us to break.

Back from commercial, KUSHIDA cuts a promo.

He says he respects Roderick Strong’s win over Bobby Fish and if he wants a shot at the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, he’s got it.

Commentary tells us that Raquel Gonzalez will break her silence next week, as well as Ember Moon vs. Sarray, and Ilja Dragunov will be on hand to cut a promo as well.

Dexter Lumis vs. Johnny Gargano (Love Her or Lose Her Match)

Gargano brandishes a t-shirt and says if Lumis wants Indi, he’s gotta go through him. Circling, Dexter stands firm, collar and elbow and Johnny grabs a side headlock. Arm drags into a dropkick, Gargano gets into an argument with Hartwell on the floor and he returns to a Lou Thesz Press from Lumis! Backing him into the corner with punches, off the ropes with a low dive but Johnny sidesteps!

Dexter goes under the ring, Indi follows, Candice LeRae comes down and she and Johnny pull both of them out! Gargano goes to down, smashing him into the steel steps and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Lumis in control, spinebuster into right hands, charging lariat sets up a bulldog! Back suplex, kip-up right into a leg drop... NOPE! Gargano fends off a dive and yells at Beth Phoenix, blaming her for the whole affair, but when he goes for the Superman Spear, Dexter cuts him off with a right hand! Falcon Arrow... SO CLOSE!

Perching up top, nobody home on the double stomp and Johnny lays him out with a superkick for two! Right nads, off the ropes and Lumis hits a pop-up slap! Trading superkicks, both men down and out but Dexter locks eyes with Indi and calls for the elbow! Springboard... JOHNNY ROLLED OUT OF THE WAY! THE GARGANO ESCAPE IS ON!

Hartwell gets up on the apron, her loyalties torn, and Dexter crawls to her and forces a break with the ropes! Gargano and LeRae berate Indi, Lumis with a schoolboy... NO GOOD AND JOHNNY KNOCKS HIM INTO HARTWELL WHEN HE KICKS OUT! Knocking Johnny aside with a right hand, he goes out to check on Indi but Gargano hits a DDT on the floor!

Back inside...

Johnny Gargano wins by pinfall with One Final Beat, ensuring that Dexter Lumis will Lose Her, because of course you can just turn love off based on the results of a pro wrestling match.

That’s the show, folks.
