While WWE was airing part of the July 23 SmackDown at Rolling Loud Festival, they announced a PPV event for Jan. 1, 2022 in Atlanta.
The show marks out new territory on the calendar for WWE, which typically doesn’t have a show between their pre-Christmas December PPV and Royal Rumble. It will also be establishing a new brand.
They filed a trademark for “Day One” a little more than a week ago, and that’s what the New Year’s Day show is called. A commercial for Day One recently aired in the Atlanta market:
For the first time in 6 years, @WWE will be bringing a pay-per-view to Atlanta. "WWE DAY 1" is scheduled to be at the @StateFarmArena Saturday, January 1, 2022. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am et through Ticketmaster. @nodqdotcom @aaronrift #wweday1 pic.twitter.com/3Tul4rng5a

We’re obviously too far away to know anything about the card for Day One at Allstate Arena, but if there’s not a significant Usos presence, I’ll be disappointed.
Here’s a look at the PPVs WWE’s announced for the next year:
Sept. 26, 2021 - Extreme Rules in Columbus, Ohio
Oct. 21 - Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia
Nov. 21 - Survivor Series in Brooklyn
Jan. 1, 2022 - Day One in Atlanta
April 3 - WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas
Weekend of July 4 - Money in the Bank - Las Vegas
Down for some Day One ish?
