The best match of the weekend took place at NXT TakeOver 36

WWE.com

Now that WWE President Nick Khan has confirmed NXT will be getting rebranded within the next couple of weeks, it gave created something of a surreal feeling around NXT TakeOver 36, which took place tonight (Sun., Aug. 22, 2021) at Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. It likely represents the final special of the NXT we’ve known and loved for many years now.

To that end, it was a fun show featuring the kind of quality wrestling you expect from the brand. It’s just too bad it came at the tail end of an exhausting weekend of wrestling that featured too many big moments to count. Even accounting for that, the best match of the weekend was on this show, in front of not nearly enough fans in a building far too small to contain it.

Incredible.

Here are all the videos from the show:

  • Ridge Holland derails Trey Baxter’s momentum
  • Ted DiBiase assists Cameron Grimes against LA Knight
  • Gonzalez sends Kai bouncing onto the entrance ramp
  • Kay Lee ray stares down Raquel Gonzalez
  • Ilja Dragunov pulls out all the stops against Walter
  • Adam Cole nails Kyle O’Reilly with Panama Sunrise inside a Steel Cage
  • Samoa Joe digs down deep against Karrion Kross
  • LA Knight is far from done
  • Kay Lee Ray puts all of NXT on notice
