The ongoing story of Dominik Mysterio and his father Rey continued at WWE SummerSlam tonight (Sat., Aug. 21, 2021) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. They challenged The Usos for the SmackDown tag team titles with a cloud hanging over their head.
Dom has been showing a willingness to cheat to win, and dad hasn’t been the biggest fan of that. So how would that play into this one?
It didn’t.
Instead, they played it clean all throughout and Rey found himself eating multiple Frog Splashes, a double superkick, and one more splash for good measure. Jimmy & Jey won clean, right there in the middle of the ring, and Dominik was ineffective all throughout.
In fact, the story commentary told was more about Rey being concerned about the welfare of his son, as opposed to what route he’s going down as a competitor.
Either way, The Usos are still your SmackDown tag team champions.
