I haven’t been the biggest fan of this Indi Hartwell/Dexter Lumis romance angle since it started. It’s been amusing enough, but it crossed over into something more than that this week on NXT TV. There was just too much to like about everything they did, from the match against Robert Stone & Jessi Kamea to what came after.
That included:
- Indi mirroring Dexter during their entrance, and a time or two during the ensuing match
- Robert Stone turning it up to 11
- A point in the match where Hartwell was in a submission and needing to get to the rope to break it and Dexter responding by bending down and encouraging her while holding his hand on the rope so she could reach out to it and get that rope break
- Stone trying a dive to the outside and coming up hilariously short of Dexter, who just looked down at him deadpan in a moment that actually made me laugh out loud
- Indi wrecking Jessi when she saw her attack Dexter
- Indi & Dexter submitting both Kamea & Stone at the same time for the finish
- Indi going to Beth Phoenix for what looked to be encouragement but was actually Beth slipping her an engagement ring
- Indi then proposing to Dexter right there in the middle of the ring
- Dexter responding initially by taking off his left glove, throwing it away, and nodding his head “yes”
- That hilarious ring
- Indi’s facial expressions all throughout, something she is exceedingly good at
- The fact that we can now look forward to a wrestling wedding
