When Cameron Grimes hit it big off some Gamestop investing and became the richest man in NXT, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase had an absolute blast one upping him for a number of weeks in a series of entertaining segments that aired on NXT TV. It culminated in LA Knight taking his side and a match being set up for the revived Million Dollar Championship at In Your House.
Knight won that match, and was awarded the title, seemingly becoming a protege of sorts.
Except, after the celebration ceremony to crown him, Knight turned on DiBiase and laid him out, with Grimes coming to his aid. Since then, Grimes lost a match to become Knight’s butler and has been getting humiliated ever since.
Finally, DiBiase made his return on this week’s episode of NXT TV. He gave Grimes a pep talk, attempting to break him free from Knight’s rule. Knight responded by offering a match at TakeOver 36 on Sun., Aug. 22, 2021.
If Grimes wins, he’s the new Million Dollar champion.
If Knight wins, Ted DiBiase will be his new butler.
It’s on.
Here’s the updated TakeOver 36 match card:
