Per Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, NXT’s Great American Bash on July 6 brought in an hourly average audience of 654,000 viewers, with a 0.18 rating in the key 18 to 49 year old demographic.
This is an improvement upon last week’s all-time low numbers (636K / .13) on Tuesdays for NXT, but it’s still the second smallest average viewership since the move from Wednesday. The demo rating at least had a more significant rebound this week.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals and its average audience of 8.6 million viewers provided tough competition for NXT, so I wasn’t expecting NXT’s numbers to have a huge surge, even with a special themed episode. Your expectations may vary. It’s hard to know what to make of these numbers until the NBA playoffs go away. Next Tuesday night’s (July 13) schedule should be clear of the NBA Finals, so that will give us a better idea of how NXT is doing.
Here’s a look at the black-and-gold brand’s viewership and 18 - 49 year old demo rating since they moved to Tuesdays after WrestleMania 37.
