In 2019, Jimmy Uso (real name Jonathan Fatu) was involved in two incidents that involved alcohol and the police. One in Detroit, which involved his wife Naomi (Trinity Fatu) and led to a disorderly conduct and obstruction charge. The second occurred five months later in Pensacola, Florida. He was charged with driving under the influence and speeding in that case; Uso contested the DUI and was found not guilty by a jury.
Now, TMZ Sports reports Jimmy was once again arrested for DUI last night (July 5).
Police in Pensacola - the same city where his July 2019 arrest happened - say they pulled Uso over for doing 50 mph in a 35 mph zone at 10:35 pm. Officers documented they smelled alcohol, and ordered him to step out of his vehicle. Uso appeared unsteady, and told the police he’d consumed “multiple” beers before getting behind the wheel. Police documents state that he failed field sobriety tests, and his breathalyzer results indicate his blood alcohol concentration was .202 and .205. Florida’s legal BAC limit for operating a motor vehicle is .08.
TMZ says Uso is still in jail as of this morning. Bond is set at $500.
After a prolonged injury hiatus, Jimmy returned to WWE programming in May. He’s currently involved in one of WWE’s best stories with his twin brother Jey and cousin Roman Reigns. The company’s usual stance on matters such as this is to state their independent contractors are responsible for their own actions when not appearing for WWE.
We’ll see if the recurrence of Uso’s issues, or his high profile on television, alters that stance.
