WWE Money in the Bank 2021 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Money in the Bank show set to take place on Sun., July 18, 2021, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. This will be the first WWE PPV to take place back out on the road in front of paying fans.

We’re a couple weeks away from the show and the card looks like this:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge (Universal championship match)

Edge made a surprise return on SmackDown and quickly demanded a title shot at Reigns on the basis of the fact that he got to the champion at WrestleMania and it was Daniel Bryan who got in the way. He’s no longer around, so let’s do it again, shall we?

  • Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE championship match)

With Drew McIntyre no longer in the picture, that paved the way for Kingston to step up and take another shot at winning back the title he lost to Brock Lesnar years ago. MVP has made this a far more interesting program than it would have been otherwise, though it still seems like a stopgap before Lashley moves on to something bigger at SummerSlam.

  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw women’s championship match)

This was booked in response to Ripley winning at Hell in a Cell via disqualification when she used a piece of table against Charlotte. There hasn’t been much to it so far.

  • Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley (SmackDown women’s championship I Quit match)

While admitting Bayley is living rent free in her head, Belair decided the way to get her the hell out of there would be to completely and thoroughly defeat her. The only match you can really do that in? An I Quit match!

  • Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match

Current participants: Ricochet, Riddle, John Morrison, Drew McIntyre, Big E, Kevin Owens

The final two will be determined on SmackDown this week with the winners of the following matches qualifying: Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin

  • Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match

Current participants: Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Naomi, Asuka, Carmella, Zelina Vega

There are rumors of one or two tag team title matches being added to the show but this could very well be the full lineup.
