It’s been well over a year that Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez have been friendly. They did a lot together in that time, including winning the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and becoming the first ever NXT women’s tag team champions. There had been some tension between the two of late after Gonzalez won the NXT women’s championship at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, but they’ve stayed strong.
Until now.
During this week’s episode of NXT TV, Kai cut a promo calling out anyone in the division to step to Gonzalez, who was looking for a new challenger for her title. She said no one had it in them to step to the champ before vowing that as long as she had Raquel’s back, she would always be champion.
Naturally, she attacked her from behind.

We’re less than a month away from NXT TakeOver 36. It sure looks like we just got another title match for the show.
