John Cena wrestled his first actual wrestling match in two-and-a-half years last night

As much as I will forever sing the praises of WrestleMania 36’s Firefly Fun House Match, I’d also be the first to admit it wasn’t a real wrestling match. John Cena was pinned at the end of it (then he literally disappeared, something he seems to have recovered from and/or forgotten), but before that he wrestled with Bray Wyatt’s deconstruction of his career much more than he wrestled with Wyatt himself.

Which means the last time Cena wrestle-wrestled was a Fatal 4Way on the Jan. 14, 2019 Raw...

... until last night (July 23) on SmackDown in Cleveland. If you watched the show and didn’t catch this match, don’t worry - or make “You Can’t See Me” jokes. It happened, it just happened on a show-closing dark match to send the arena full of Guardians fans home happy.

This was a real house show (remember those?) kind of match, pitting Cena & The Mysterios against Roman Reigns & The Usos. Here’s some clips and pics from social media:
