Roman Reigns just compared John Cena to the missionary position

Acknowledge your Tribal Chief.

If you don’t want to acknowledge him for the outstanding work he’s been doing since he came back to WWE last year, or really how good he’s been for pretty much all of his career, then acknowledge him for the fact that he just went out on Friday Night SmackDown and compared the legendary John Cena to the missionary position.

“He came out here, the same music, the same entrance, the same run to the ring, the same outfit, the same promo, the same insults. If I wanted that, all I had to do was search online for 2005 John Cena — it’s the same thing, over and over and over. It’s like missionary position every single night.”

Beyond being great simply for breaking from the norm in WWE over the past number of years, it’s so biting because of its accuracy. Cena is back, and that’s wonderful for a variety of reasons, and Reigns saying this doesn’t change that, but if you’re going to attack him you absolute attack the fact that he’s just been playing the hits for a long time now. Like, a shockingly long time. It feels like forever, really.

Reigns refused Cena’s challenge for SummerSlam, for what it’s worth. Finn Balor made things even more interesting when he showed up and challenged Reigns himself, with the crowd goading the Universal champion into accepting, but that’s likely a SmackDown match.

We’re still headed for Reigns vs. Cena in the main event of SummerSlam and if tonight was any indication it’s only going to get better as we get closer.
