WWE wasted no time finding four wrestlers from the Monday Night Raw roster for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., July 18, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas. Three qualifying matches were booked for the same episode of Raw, and a last chance qualifier was held the next week.
Not so with Friday Night SmackDown, where we’ve seen one new qualifier each week. First, Big E defeated Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews to earn a measure of revenge against his chief rival to book his ticket.
This week, Kevin Owens, after taking a week off, returned to square up with Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing match. The two went back-and-forth in a particularly physical affair that saw Owens go through multiple tables from far too high up and still get back up to launch enough of a volley to put Zayn on his ass for a count of 10.
He’s officially in the match.
Next week, we’ll see the next two qualifiers, as Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin have been booked for SmackDown.
Here’s who is currently set for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match:
- Riddle
- Ricochet
- John Morrison
- Drew McIntyre
- Big E
- Kevin Owens
