There was a report back on May 13 that Zelina Vega would be returning to WWE, six months after she was released by the company in a move that left her heartbroken. During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, she made her official return to television, as she was announced by Sonya Deville as the next participant in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match scheduled for Money in the Bank on July 18 in Fort Worth, Texas.
This comes just days after Andrade had been teasing Vega joining him in AEW. It also comes one month to the day that her husband, Aleister Black, was released by WWE. There have been a few rumors that perhaps he could be brought back as well. We’ll see what impact this move has on that, if any.
Meanwhile, Vega would instantly go on to lose to Liv Morgan in her first match back. Either way, she is back and will be in a marquee match in just a number of weeks.
The women’s Money in the Bank ladder match now includes:
- Alexa Bliss
- Nikki Cross
- Zelina Vega
