WWE Money in the Bank 2021 results: AJ Styles & Omos retain Raw tag team titles

When Bayley injured her knee and WWE had to scrap a planned “I Quit” match she had scheduled against Bianca Belair for the SmackDown women’s championship, the company decided to move another match to tonight’s (Sun., July 18, 2021) Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

That match was AJ Styles & Omos putting their Raw tag team titles on the line against The Viking Raiders.

The thing to watch for in this match was how they would book Omos, considering he’s basically been untouchable since he came into WWE. He’s never been made to sell and I’m not even sure he’s taken an actual bump. At his size, that makes sense, but what would it mean for a match like this?

About what you would think.

Styles would come in, get some offense in, then get countered and take a lot of offense before tagging Omos in, who would dominate. Then that process would repeat itself. It’s worth noting, Styles & Omos are heels and were widely cheered, with “AJ-Styles” chants breaking out at various points.

The Raiders did actually get as much offense in on Omos as we’ve seen from anyone, but that wasn’t all that much. At one point, he broke up a pin by throwing one Raider into the other.

Ultimately, Omos pinned Erik after a slam and the fans in the arena seemed happy with it.
