Big E wins Money in the Bank

John Morrison, Riddle, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, King Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Big E, and Seth Rollins all came together for a ladder match at tonight’s (Sun., July 18, 2021) WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The winner would be whoever grabbed the briefcase suspended above the ring, the reward inside a contract for a future title match whenever they want it.

There was an issue with Peacock’s stream as entrances were being done, as it was stuttering and going in and out for everyone, but the issue was resolved by the time the match itself got going.

It’s a good thing too, because it was your usual fun ladder match with bodies flying everywhere. Owens took a suplex onto the side of a ladder. Ricochet took an Alabama Slam onto a ladder set up in the corner. That was after a back body drop onto one. Then he got pushed off on, landed on the top rope, used it as a springboard, and took out a group on the outside.

Incredible.

Kevin Owens took a powerbomb from the ring onto a ladder bridged from the ring to the desk. It’s a brutal spot they do in these matches now and it always looks like just the worst bump imaginable.

After all the carnage, Rollins seemed to be alone but Big E showed up and hit him with a Big Ending off the ladder from way up there. Then he climbed the ladder, the crowd exploding with every step hoping he would grab the briefcase, and he paid them off by doing just that.

Amazing match.
