The Usos get another chance to make The Bloodline whole

SmackDown Tag Team championship Kickoff match

Families collide on Sun., July 18 as one of the subplots of WWE’s top story heads to the pre-show.

The Road to Money in the Bank

The first dance between brothers Jimmy & Jey Uso and the father and son champs Rey & Dominik Mysterio was mired in controversy. A bad count in the opening match of the June 4 SmackDown led to a main event rematch. But the Head of the Table didn’t like the looks of how that was going, so Roman Reigns took care of business for his disappointing cousins.

That set up a Hell in a Cell match between Rey and the Universal champion. Jimmy offered to help with that in Jey’s absence, but Reigns took care of the elder Mysterio all by himself. Those beatings put the tag champs on the shelf for a couple of weeks, but when The Usos were helping their Tribal Chief assault his next challenger, Edge, Rey & Dom made their return to help the Rated R Superstar out.

A six-man followed on the go home edition of the blue brand. There, Reigns again took out some frustration on Dom before Jey cheated to gain a pinfall victory over Rey. Edge made sure the babyfaces stood tall in the fight after the match though... it’s anybody’s game heading into Money in the Bank!

What’s at stake

All things SmackDown revolve around Roman. With a title match of his own on the main card, Reigns probably won’t get involved this time. But everyone will be watching for his reaction afterwards, whether The Usos can make his championship plan happen or not.

Like the mob boss that he is, the Head of the Table wants to make his family “whole”. What will he do if all three men are carrying titles? What will he do - to Jimmy & Jey and/or Rey & Dominik - if the Mysterios thwart him again?

We’ll start to find out tomorrow at 7 pm ET on WWE Network, Peacock, and right here at Cageside Seats.
