The rumor mill has repeatedly suggested that WWE and Brock Lesnar have not reached a deal for the Beast Incarnate to work a match on Aug. 21 at SummerSlam 2021.
With Roman Reigns rumored to be defending the Universal championship against John Cena on that card, and Edge said to be lined up for a match against Seth Rollins, that leaves WWE champion Bobby Lashley without an obvious opponent.
Lashley’s dream match for years has been the elusive Lesnar fight. But according to a new report from Fightful, Lashley will instead have to settle for Goldberg. The report says the plan right now is for Goldberg to return on Raw and set up a match against Lashley for SummerSlam.
Goldberg has stated that his WWE contract calls for two matches per year. He already failed to win the WWE championship from Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble 2021 in January. It sounds like he’ll have a chance to redeem himself against the All Mighty WWE champion.
What do you think of a potential match between Goldberg and Lashley at SummerSlam?
