AEW just weathered a month of schedule shifts for Dynamite while their home network covered the NBA playoffs. Their former Wednesday Night War foe won’t have to move nights as NBCUniversal covers the Summer Olympics, but it’s NXT’s turn to face a similar challenge.

The July 27 episode of NXT is listed as airing on SyFy as USA will have Olympics coverage from Tokyo.

No word yet on if this will be the only time NXT has to move down the channel grid because of the Games. COVID willing, they’re scheduled to run from July 23 - Aug. 8, meaning the Aug. 3 episode could also end up on SyFy.

It doesn’t appear NBCUniversal will bump their other WWE property, Raw, from its usual spot. The main roster’s red brand is still listed for USA on Mon., July 26.

The Olympics figure to hurt wrestling ratings across the board. Could it be worse for NXT? Will the NXT faithful follow the show to a different network for a week or two? Is there going to be a lingering effect on their numbers on USA as head toward SummerSlam and a likely TakeOver: Vegas show?

Stay tuned.

UPDATE: PWInsider reports the Aug. 3 episode will also air on SyFy.
