With Shotzi Blackheart’s “contract selected by SmackDown”, NXT lost the chance to book a Women’s title match between Raquel González and Ember Moon’s ex-partner.
The first step toward addressing that came on the July 13 episode. After helping her partner Dakota Kai defeat Moon in singles action, González went into fighting champ mode when Xia Li hit the ring to confront her.

Later in the night they’d announce that title bout for next Tuesday (July 20).
It remains to be seen if this a long-term plan or just a stop-gap solution, but it’s a step up for Li and the still-mysterious Tian Sha faction she’s a part of. She’s been built up well for it, though, coming off two wins over former #1 contender Mercedes Martinez. It will be Big Mami Cool’s first defense since beating Moon at TakeOver: In Your House.
Also announced for next Tuesday is the latest chapter in Cruiserweight champion Kushida’s feud with the new Diamond Mine group. This is rumored to be leading to a big title feud between Kushida and Roderick Strong, and they’ll mix it up with each other in a tag match on the 20th.
