The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Money in the Bank show set to take place on Sun., July 18, 2021, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. This will be the first WWE PPV to take place back out on the road in front of paying fans.
We’re just one week away from the show and the card looks like this:
- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE championship)
When Drew McIntyre finally finished up his chase of Lashley, Kingston stepped right up after some goading from MVP. This has become the story of Kingston trying to capture his past glory while Lashley looks to remain at the top of the division on his dominant run he’s been on.
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge (Universal championship)
Edge returned after an extended absence following his loss at WrestleMania 37 demanding he be given a title shot in a singles match. His wish was granted.
- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw women’s championship match)
It’s a rematch from Hell in a Cell, where Ripley won via disqualification, seemingly on purpose.
- Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match
The full list of competitors: Drew McIntyre, Riddle, John Morrison, Ricochet, Kevin Owens, Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins
- Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match
The current list of competitors, with two more still to be named: Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Naomi, Asuka, Zelina Vega, Liv Morgan
That’s the card as it stands right now. There have been hints of tag team title matches but Bayley’s recent injury threw a wrench into plans on the SmackDown side, with Shotzi & Nox getting a call up and immediately defeating the women’s tag team champions upon their debut. We’ll see what that means for Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke and their pursuit of the titles.
