Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair win ESPY award for WrestleMania main event

Although much of the sports world had its eyes on Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s showdown at UFC 264 last night (July 10, 2021) in Las Vegas, across the country in New York City ESPN was holding its ESPY Awards show.

It’s relevant to our interests because an award was given out for “Best WWE Moment.”

There were plenty of nominees, and plenty of great moments over the past year, but there was really only one answer as to who should be the winner. Sure enough:

Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair became the first black women to headline WrestleMania back in April in Tampa, Florida, in a very good match that saw Belair defeat Banks to win the SmackDown women’s championship. It was a historic moment deserving of the accolade.
