The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Hell in a Cell event set to take place on Sun., June 20, 2021, at the ThunderDome inside the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The show is typically held in October (with one event, in 2018, being held in September) but was moved to the summer to be held in the ThunderDome.
We’re just a couple weeks out from showtime. Here’s how the card looks right now:
- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw women’s championship)
Flair beat Asuka multiple times, effectively ending her run in the main event scene of the Raw women’s division. Ripley, meanwhile, has been a cocky champion who let that get the best of her in a match against Nikki Cross, one that helped Flair end up with this title shot. Cross, for what it’s worth, is waiting in the wings to challenge whoever wins here.
- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE championship)
It took two different number one contender matches to get there but McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston on Monday Night Raw last week to earn yet another title match against Lashley. No word just yet on whether or not this will be a Hell in a Cell match.
- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley (SmackDown women’s championship)
In a bit of a break from the norm, the champion issued the challenge here despite winning their last PPV match. Her reasoning? She’s tired of Bayley laughing in her face.
Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro is also looking likely for this show. There’s also a tag team battle royal scheduled for Raw this week that will determine the next top contender’s to the Raw tag team titles, and that match could happen on this show.
