New Day is the greatest tag team in WWE history, according to WWE

For the past couple weeks over on Peacock/WWE Network, they’ve been counting down the 50 Greatest WWE Tag Teams.

They’ve reached the top, and announced that The New Day rocks.

If you cast a skeptical eye on the choice of Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods as #1, that’s understandable. Recency bias, including a desire to promote an act that is still producing #content for the companies involved (WWE and NBCUniversal), is definitely a factor here.

But eleven total tag title runs, including a record seven with the SmackDown straps and the longest ever reign at 483 days with the Raw belts from August 2015 to December 2016, make a totally valid case for their selection as well. Throw in the caveat that WWE wasn’t counting ECW or WCW teams in their ranking (they got separate shout-outs during the limited series), and I’ve got no truck with crowning the Princes of Positivity over The Hardy Boyz, The Hart Foundation, Edge & Christian, and others.

Especially when E’s reaction to the honor demonstrates why so many of us love New Day:
