Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair were having a perfectly good wrestling match at Hell in a Cell last night (June 20) in Tampa, Florida, when Ripley hit Flair with part of the announcer’s table. That led to a disqualification victory for the challenger but the champion kept her title, per the usual rules.
This was addressed with the utmost haste on Monday Night Raw just 24 hours later. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, presenting a unified front, told Ripley it was unacceptable that she was manipulating a rule to maintain her status as champion. Then, when Flair hit the scene to say she wanted another shot at the title, they instantly rewarded her with as much.
So it’s on.
The two will have their rematch at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view scheduled for July 18, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.
The updated card:
- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE championship)
