WWE opened tonight’s (Sun., June 20, 2021) Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the ThunderDome inside Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, with one of the two Hell in a Cell matches scheduled for the evening: Bianca Belair putting the SmackDown women’s championship on the line against the woman whose laughter has been tormenting her, Bayley.
Torment no more.
Bayley was a formidable foe but Belair used a Kiss of Death onto a ladder to score the pinfall to retain her title.
This was Belair’s first ever Hell in a Cell match. Because of her hair, we got some innovative spots within it. That included Bayley tying her hair on the bottom rope but ending up face planting into steel steps when she tripped over said hair. Later, she tied Belair’s hair to a chair and that, too, backfired, as she tried a running knee that the champ blocked with said chair.
Then it was Belair’s turn, as she tied her hair to Bayley herself, then just threw her all around the ring, then all around the outside of it, into the cage, everything.
There were a few kendo spots, and the finish involved a ladder, but it was clear this didn’t need to be a Hell in a Cell match.
