NXT Women’s title clash, two other matches added to TakeOver: In Your House

With less than two weeks until their next TakeOver event, Sun., June 13’s In Your House, we knew last night’s NXT would get busy setting up the card. And they did.

In addition to the 5way NXT Championship match we already told you about, NXT also booked the Women’s title match we expected after champ Raquel González took out Ember Moon’s tag partner Shotzi Blackheart two weeks ago.

In set-up that title tilt, Ember will face González’s partner Dakota Kai on next Tuesday’s go home show.

Elsewhere, Ted DiBiase’s search for someone to take up the Million Dollar Legacy hit a speed bump when Cameron Grimes distracted L.A. Knight, allowing Jake Atlas to pick up a win over the former Eli Drake. DiBiase shook his head disapprovingly at Knight, the man who seemed set as the Million Dollar Man’s protege after the May 25 episode of NXT. He also said Grimes impressed him. Only one way to figure this out...

We’re also getting the next step in Tian Sha’s rollout, as Mei Ying’s mysterious group has been targeting Mercedes Martinez for the past couple weeks. It’ll give us a long-simmering rematch four years on June 13.

Here’s the card as it currently stands:

- Karrion Kross (c) vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole for the NXT championship

- Ember Moon vs. Raquel González (c) for the NXT Women’s title

- Cameron Grimes vs. L.A. Knight

- Mercedes Martinez vs. Xia Li

We also seem headed toward a showdown between North American champ Bronson Reed and Santos Escobar, and maybe a Tag title #1 contenders match between Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher and Grizzled Young Veterans.

Those are just this writer’s guesses, though. Give us yours, and your thoughts on the card, in the comments below.
