The war between Cesaro and Seth Rollins is missing the most obvious thing

The match

Cesaro and Seth Rollins will fight each other in a singles match at Hell in a Cell 2021 on June 20 in the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

The story

Cesaro has been very successful in the ring thus far in 2021. This includes using Seth Rollins as something of a stepping stone on his way to a Universal championship match against Roman Reigns last month.

Cesaro has defeated Rollins twice, including a victory at WrestleMania 37. Rollins’ fragile ego couldn’t handle these results, so he attacked Cesaro with a chair and sent the Swiss Superman out of the ThunderDome on a stretcher. Cesaro returned a few weeks later with a surprise doorbell ring on Bayley’s talk show, and now their third match is official for Hell in a Cell.

The strange thing here is that this match is not currently scheduled to take place inside the actual Hell in a Cell cage. After Rollins’ brutal attack on Cesaro, I was very confident that their war would culminate inside the cell. But it doesn’t look like that will be the case, and the match suffers for it as a result.

We’ve already seen two basic singles matches with them, so this third match really needs some kind of gimmick or additional stakes. As it stands, it’s just another basic singles match, and not as big of a deal as their match at WrestleMania 37. Their rematch on SmackDown at least had some stakes. It turns out that Mick Foley should have also begged Vince McMahon for the giant red cage when he was sticking up for Cesaro this week.

Cesaro and Rollins are two of the best workers on the WWE roster, so this one is still worth checking out. Will WWE actually book Cesaro to beat Seth three times in a row, or will Seth finally get the signature win that has been eluding him thus far in 2021?
