There were rumors swirling for days that perhaps Samoa Joe had re-signed with WWE just two months after being let go and he would be heading back to NXT. Those rumors were proven accurate at the start of this week’s episode of NXT TV.
General Manager William Regal was there to make some kind of announcement about the future of the brand. This after he teased some major change following a chaotic evening at NXT TakeOver: In Your House just days ago, one he couldn’t quite keep control of.
Regal, openly weeping, cut an impassioned promo about just how much NXT has meant to him and his family. They’ve come so far, and he’s dedicated so much of himself to it, but we’re to a point now that he feels he can’t give everyone what they deserve anymore. And with that in mind...
NXT Champion Karrion Kross interrupted before he could get the words out. He wanted to be there to witness Regal quitting live and in person.
Cue Joe’s music.
Regal, in keeping with his prior words, told Joe he wants him to become the new General Manager of NXT. And Joe told him “absolutely not.” Instead, he would like to stick around to act as an enforcer of sorts.
A deal was made that Joe cannot wrestle in NXT, but he can get physical if he’s provoked.
This should be fun.
