The Million Dollar Championship made its return just this past week, with Ted DiBiase bringing it back in the hopes of finding someone to represent it well. To that end, Cameron Grimes and LA Knight, the top two candidates, were placed in a ladder match to “climb the ladder of success” to take it for themselves at tonight’s (Sun., June 13, 2021) NXT TakeOver: In Your House event at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.
As ladder matches go, at least relative to others in WWE, this one was fairly tame. There were still some painful looking spots, like this:

They built to the big spot, though, Knight sending Grimes flying from the tall gold ladder to take a sick bump onto a ladder set up outside the ring. It both looked and sounded nasty.
That made it easy for Knight, who went right up the ladder and pulled the case with the Million Dollar Championship inside off its hook. Once he brought it down, Ted DiBiase took it out and handed it to him.
Cue the sparklers.
