NXT’s rating plunges on May 4

WWE.com

While they’re still not where they were for the first couple weeks in their new Tuesday night timeslot, NXT’s May 4 audience did bounce back a bit from last week’s big drop. The black-and-gold brand picked up 17K viewers for Finn Bálor’s return and a Women’s Tag title Street Fight.

Unfortunately, the rating among 18 - 49 year olds went in the other direction. That number dropped more than 18% percent from the April 27 episode. That dropped the show from 11th among cable originals a week ago to 21st last night.

Can’t blame their Monday night “lead in” this week, either. Raw’s numbers weren’t great, but they were up from the week before.

Here’s a rundown of NXT viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo since the move to Tuesdays:

Triple H & company already booked two title matches for May 11 (Mercedes Martinez vs. Women’s champion Raquel González, and Cruiserweight champion Kushida defending against Santos Escobar in a two-out-of-three falls affair). We’ll see if that helps turn things around after a couple disappointing weeks.
