That didn’t take long!
While passing along word of WWE announcing Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka in a Raw women’s championship match at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., May 16, 2021, at the ThunderDome inside the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, I made clear it was entirely possible Charlotte Flair would be added to the match within the next couple of weeks.
She was added within a couple of hours.
On Monday Night Raw shortly after the announcement, Flair pleaded her case to Sonya Deville, who went ahead and put her in the match. This furthered whatever issue Deville has with Adam Pearce, who is getting increasingly upset about Deville going behind his back to make major decisions.
A power struggle is a-brewing!
Here’s the updated WrestleMania Backlash match card:
- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman (WWE championship)
- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley (SmackDown women’s championship)
- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw women’s championship)
