Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka title match booked for WrestleMania Backlash (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Yep, WWE already added Charlotte to the match.

Although WWE has been promoting this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw by wondering if Charlotte Flair would be inserting herself in the Raw women’s title picture, the promotion went ahead and announced a title match for the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash event before Raw ever went on the air.

How about that?

Oh, and it’s a rematch from WrestleMania 37.

Indeed, Rhea Ripley will be defending her title against Asuka at the upcoming pay-per-view scheduled for Sun., May 16, 2021, at the ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

Of course, it’s entirely possible Flair is added to the match within the next couple shows but for now, she’s on the outside looking in.
