In kayfabe, I suppose Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax earned another shot at reclaiming the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles when Baszler made Natalya tap out on SmackDown last night (May 21).
But the fallout interview where they learned about their championship opportunity spent as much time addressing the supernatural interference which has plagued Shayna in recent weeks, as it did Nattie & Tamina. So I’m willing to bet the real reason for we’ll see a version of Baszler & Jax vs. the current champs for the fourth time in ten days is to further the Alexa Bliss & Lilly program.
Reginald is apparently still recovering from the facial “burns” he suffered when the ringposts “mysteriously” shot off Kane’s pyro on last Monday’s Raw. So he won’t be there to shield Baszler from whatever Bliss & her little creepy doll friend do during the May 24 show.
We’ll see what impact the dark arts have on the former Tag champs this time. WWE is also teasing the fallout of Kofi Kingston’s Drew McIntyre-assisted win over Bobby Lashley for Monday’s show.
