Love for Tamina pours in after she finally captures WWE gold

Tamina has been with WWE for more than decade. The daughter of Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, she was born into the wrestling business. By all accounts, she’s a beloved figure backstage - a mother of two kids who’s also a mother figure to the WWE locker room.

If you don’t count the 24/7 championship though (and no offense R-Truth or Rob Gronkowski, but we don’t), Tamina had never won WWE gold until she & Natalya beat Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler for the Women’s Tag titles on the May 14 edition of SmackDown.

As was the case when another respected and adored veteran finally claimed one of the company’s belts on NXT a couple weeks back, the wrestling world has been showing love and support for Tamina since she raised the title above her head in the ThunderDome last night.

There’s more (and a lot of retweeting of the pics Charlotte and Drake used with heart emojis), but you get the idea. And so does “Mamma Bear”.

Congrats Tamina!
