Tamina and Natalya win the Women’s tag team titles

There was only one match advertised ahead of tonight’s (May 14) episode of SmackDown. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were scheduled to defend the Women’s tag titles against Tamina and Natalya in a rematch from night two of WrestleMania 37.

Reginald accompanied the champs to the ring. He caused a distraction early in the match, which led to the referee ejecting him from ringside.

Jax quickly regrouped by smashing Tamina into a barricade with a Samoan Drop on the outside of the ring, leaving Natalya all alone inside the ring to be dominated by both champs for an extended period of time.

Once Tamina got back in the fray, Natalya was able to neutralize Baszler. Jax nailed Natalya with a Samoan Drop in the ring, only for Tamina to immediately fall from the skies onto Jax with a superfly splash. That was good enough for the three count.

Natalya and Tamina are the new women’s tag team champions. Afterwards, they cut a babyface promo about fighting for their dreams, emphasizing how Tamina just won her first major championship in WWE.
