Report: Zelina Vega is returning to WWE

Zelina Vega was released by WWE in November 2020 in the aftermath of their ban on third party platforms, but a new report says she is returning to the promotion.

Fightful Select says that Vega was at the WWE Performance Center today, May 13. Her appearance there is said to not be a simple visit; she’s being filmed. They’ve been told that the plan is for Vega to return to WWE.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has confirmed that the story is accurate.

Vega was most closely tied with Andrade on WWE television, but he was recently released from the company and is no longer working there. Vega’s real life husband is Aleister Black. After disappearing from WWE television for roughly six months, Aleister recently popped up again on SmackDown in multiple pre-taped vignettes. Naturally, there’s some speculation that perhaps Zelina will be paired up with him if she returns to WWE television.

There’s also the possibility that Zelina goes solo and remains as an active competitor in the women’s division. She challenged Asuka for the Raw women’s championship multiple times in the months leading to her departure from WWE last November.
