It sounds like Orange Cassidy is okay after injury scare on Dynamite

AEW Dynamite

Last night’s (May 12) episode of Dynamite featured a singles match between PAC and Orange Cassidy, with the winner earning a shot at AEW World champion Kenny Omega at Double or Nothing 2021, coming up on May 30.

The match seemingly used a finish right out of WWE’s playbook, with Omega interrupting to ensure the match had no winner. AEW vowed to never book finishes like this, so it seemed quite bizarre.

Many fans watching the match noticed Cassidy was largely inactive for the final minutes of the fight. This happened after he took a sick powerbomb spot that looked like it legitimately knocked him out.

Reports came out that AEW did indeed call an audible and changed the finish of the match due to Cassidy being hurt.

In an update today, PW Insider says that Freshly Squeezed appears to be okay:

“...we are told Orange Cassidy is OK and was seen socializing with a number of talents after last night’s Dynamite taping. The belief among those we’ve spoken with is that he’ll be good to go for the PPV on 5/30.”

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer told his co-host Bryan Alvarez that a nasty kick to the face prior to the powerbomb is what started it all.

Given another recent injury situation on Dynamite where Ricky Starks was initially said to be fine, only for it to later be revealed that he fractured his neck, Alvarez offered these words of caution on Cassidy:

“The thing with Orange is, hopefully they check his neck as well...Orange may be ‘fine’ and talking to people or whatever, but that doesn’t mean he’s fine. He needs to be checked out.”
