WWE has reportedly chosen a date for SummerSlam 2021

WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event takes place in August every year. There’s recently been some buzz in the rumor mill that WWE is hopeful this year’s iteration of the event can serve as the company’s official return to touring, and as a result of that goal, the date for SummerSlam might be moved up on the calendar.

Based on this update from PW Insider, however, it looks like SummerSlam 2021 will take place in the same date range as it always does:

“The 2021 WWE Summerslam PPV will be Sunday 8/22. We are told the location still has yet to be finalized.”

The back half of August is exactly when I’d expect SummerSlam to occur. For example, last year’s event took place on Aug. 23.

We still don’t have any clarification on the location for the biggest party of the summer. The last thing we heard is that WWE wants to get out of Florida and is looking at a major venue out west for this event.

We’ll keep you updated as more details come forward.
