Knowing it was up against the second and third rounds of the wildly popular NFL Draft, WWE booked two title matches for this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, including putting Daniel Bryan’s SmackDown career on the line. It’s no surprise, then, that Bryan’s Universal title match against Roman Reigns delivered the goods.
They were given plenty of time to work with and came through with a television classic that could have headlined any major pay-per-view on the WWE schedule. It probably wasn’t enough to save them as far as ratings are concerned, but those who tuned in were given quite the treat.
