WWE is making a concerted effort to keep the timing of each night of WrestleMania 37 to a reasonable number, roughly 3-and-a-half hours, per reports, and that means some matches were cut. But with SmackDown on Friday nights, the promotion simply used it as a sort of third night of WrestleMania, booking multiple matches that would have been on the main card otherwise.
That included The Dirty Dawgs, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, putting the SmackDown tag team titles on the line in a Fatal 4-Way match against Rey & Dominik Mysterio, Otis & Chad Gable, and The Street Profits.
The rules dictated anyone could tag in by just slapping anyone legal in the ring, so it was a hectic battle that featured action all over the place from literally everyone in the match. They set up the Mysterios to hit a double 619 for a near fall that looked like the end, then a bunch of false finishes for Gable and then one Montez Ford hit a huge frog splash that looked like it caught Gable in the head. Roode got the blind tag off that, however, and Ziggler cleared him out with a superkick.
Roode jumped in to cover Gable and that was enough to score the three count to keep the titles on the bad guys.
