Talk of a Dwayne Johnson presidential campaign has been around for a while - at least since another person with WWE ties successfully ran one in 2016.
Since then, Johnson’s become more and more vocal about politics and his vision for the future of the United States. He all but called out Donald Trump during last summer’s protests for racial justice, and endorsed Joe Biden before the 2020 election. Johnson’s long said he would consider seeking the country’s office if Americans wanted him to, and his new NBC sitcom feels to many (this writer included) like a test balloon for a future run.
Earlier this week, Newsweek reported on a poll asking about celebrities running for a variety of public positions. Its results claim “Johnson for President” would be supported by almost half the country.
The Great One reacted to that news...
Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club - but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people https://t.co/6Xd9ADzqX7

The most electrifying man in sports, entertainment, AND politics?
Seems entirely possible.
