Even Logan Paul can’t ruin this one

The match

Kevin Owens goes on-one-one with Sami Zayn on night two (Apr. 11) of WrestleMania 37 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. It appears that Logan Paul will at least be ringside for the fight, and may have a more significant role by bell time.

The story

For many pro wrestling fans, the concept of Kevin Owens having a singles match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 37 is a dream come true. But of course this dream match comes with a catch, and his name is Logan Paul.

Sami Zayn has had a rough go of it ever since he lost the Intercontinental championship to Big E on the Christmas night episode of SmackDown. Overall, Zayn has lost 15 of his last 16 matches. The Great Liberator never takes accountability for his own shortcomings in the ring. Instead, he repeatedly claims there’s a massive conspiracy against him in WWE. That’s been his nonsensical go-to argument for months on end, and he even brings a documentary crew with him to television every week so that he can expose the truth.

Zayn tried to rope his old pal Kevin Owens into taking part in this bogus documentary, but Owens wanted nothing to do with it. This led to an episode of The KO Show that resulted in Owens challenging Zayn to a match at WrestleMania 37. Sami reluctantly accepted but told Kevin that he’s making a mistake. Once Owens got the answer he wanted, he initiated a brawl with his former friend.

One week later, Zayn invited “global YouTube sensation” Logan Paul to the red carpet premiere for the trailer of his documentary. The trailer demonstrated that Zayn’s conspiracy claims are meritless. Zayn asked Paul for his support, but the YouTube star hedged. He told Zayn that Owens was in his ear about Zayn being delusional. Sami snapped and said he doesn’t care what Kevin thinks; he wants to know what Logan Paul thinks. Before Logan could give a firm reaction to how he feels about Sami’s documentary, KO stormed the ring and took Sami down with a Stunner. Owens then shoved Paul on his way out of the ring.

Zayn gained a measure of revenge on Owens by attacking him in the backstage area. But the biggest reveal during this entire segment was that Logan Paul is coming to WrestleMania. He’s going to play some kind of role in the match between Owens and Zayn. The rumor mill indicates that he could be a special referee or enforcer. The bottom line is that Paul’s decisions during this match will likely determine the eventual winner.

Logan Paul’s presence isn’t exactly what most pro wrestling fans had in mind when fantasy booking a WrestleMania story for Owens and Zayn. But a match between these two men will always deliver; that’s why they’re destined to fight forever. The bottom line is that even Logan Paul can’t ruin this one. And if he does, well, Kevin Owens will gladly powerbomb him off of the nearest pirate ship.
