The Way’s Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell entered the Capitol Wrestling Center on April 8 to challenge for the NXT Women’s Tag Team championship. Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart are already the second team to hold the belts, but this would the first time they were defended on a TakeOver.
After entering with a the bluster that comes when you ride a ball-shooting tank to the ring...

...Blackheart quickly found herself in peril. Once she made the tag to Moon, big spots came fast and furious.

Not all of them looked great, either.

After a pause for officials to check on Blackheart after that, the action continued. A dive from Ember actually followed that, and the match continued in the ring. The Way duo looked to have the match won after hitting Shotzi with their tandem finisher, but Moon broke that up. Not long after that, a double Eclipse left it for Blackheart to hit Indi with a senton off the top, and the champ’s retained.

Poor Candice... always a challenger, never a champion.
