Edge uses reality to help sell the WrestleMania 37 triple threat title match

However you may feel about the story WWE has drawn up to get us to Roman Reigns defending the Universal championship against both Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37 this Sun., April 11, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, there’s one hell of a human story at play here. In fact, the reality of the situation is an amazing story in an of itself.

Hear it straight from Edge, from his chat with Arda Ocal:

“I don’t know if this helps further the narrative of the match but it has to be said — when I look at it and I take Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Edge out of it and I look at it from Adam, Joe, and Bryan and what each of us has come through to be able to be in this situation is… it’s kind of mind boggling. To me, that story is underneath but bigger than all of it. Because I’d like to think that wrestling, when it really works, there’s more to it than just good guy/bad guy. I think this could be one of those stories of these guys didn’t give up. They kept grinding toward getting this back, and this is a culmination of that. You have three guys that managed to do it and to all end up in the same match at the same time? That’s crazy. If you had said four or five — TWO years ago — that this would be the case I’m pretty sure 99-percent of people that you asked would go ‘that’s insane, that’s not gonna happen.’ Yet here we are. When you look at it in those terms, that, to me, is kind of the aspect of it that makes this really damn special.”

No arguments here.
